yep, but that's not the problem. the monitor i'm using is a KDS 19" LCD with native resolution of 1280x1024. sounds just like what they're asking for.

@potatorhymer:

I need information about your graphics controller:

WINDOWS XP
1. Click Start then Run or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Run window and press Enter key.

WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7
1. Click Windows Start button or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Search bar (bottom left) or in Run window and press Enter key.

Display tab: name of the graphics controller and the driver date.

Hi, just a little guessing: seems that there is something wrong with ATI graphics cards. Tried at work on an NVIDIA graphics card and worked just fine with 1.01 version, got the savings from home (where game crashes at the beginning of chapter 2).

So I extracted the patch files elsewhere (resource.005, mssdolby.flt, mssds3d.flt, mssdsp.flt, msseax.flt, mssmp3.asi, msssrs.flt, mssvoice.asi, ratof.exe, 2 pictures, nsDialogs.dll, System.dll) one of these is the culprit, i think System.dll....so we need to try to reinstal the game, extact the patch and put all the files except System.dll, and maybe the game will finaly run, if not i hope that they will release another patch before runaway 4.......

checked that theory out when I tested the game on various systems; won't work with ATI graphics cards, no matter which file you try to omit -plus not a good idea since some of them tend to 'call each other' .

Am convinced the game has a problem with ATI cards across the board, as per my findings anyway. If interested, see http://www.runaway2-thegame.com/forum/v ... 5938#25938

Yes, there is a compatibility problem with ATI RADEON 9x00 series, X300/X600/X800/X1100/X1200 series and XPRESS 200 graphics controller too.

There is no problem with other ATI graphics cards series (X1300 and higher, RADEON HD...).

The game uses some large textures (in chapter 2 for example) and these graphics controllers cannot display these textures (too large).
Pendulo Studios is working on a technique to resize automatically some large textures. We hope that this issue will be fixed using this technique.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Latest information from Pendulo Studios about the fix for ATI RADEON 9000 series, X300/X1250 and XPRESS 200 graphics controllers:

Wedneday, December 9.

We are working on the solution and it will be finished next days but it’s going to be impossible to get it ready this week, but for sure that it will finished the next (I’m not sure about the day). Please, tell to players to have a bit more of confidence.

PENDULO Studios.

I am very sorry but SiS graphics controllers are not supported, because not fully Microsoft DirectX 9 compatibles.
